Uganda’s Mutyaba Joins African Football Giants TP Mazembe
Ugandan midfielder Mike Mutyaba has landed a new year’s gift. The talented midfielder will for the next five years play his football for African giants TP Mazembe after sealing a move to the DRC side at the weekend.
Mutyaba who is already with the club will also have the privilege of featuring in the Caf Champions League considering TP Mazembe’s record in the competition. Mazembe is ranked 13th best club in the world.
An elated Mutyaba who could not hide his delight wrote on his Facebook page after cementing the move.
“Finally secured 5yrs contract with TP. Mazembe,” he wrote, “Great thanks to the almighty Allah.”
Last Year, Mutyaba got an injury that ruled that deprived him of playing time for most of last season
Although neither party could confirm the money paid to the Sudanese side for Mutyaba’s signature, sources put it at $50,000.
Mutyaba will hope for playing time so as to force his way back into the national team as he’s been out lately.
In the meantime, Cranes left back Godfrey Walusimbi is also in DR Congo for trials with Don Bosco FC. The TP Mazembe second side will also feature in the Caf Confederation Cup this year.
It is a big move for the young winger who joins compatriot Patrick Ochan at the former African champions. He will now have the chance to showcase his talent to Africa and the rest of the world.
