UOC Headquarters Burnt To Ashes
The Uganda Olympics Committee (UOC) headquarters in Lugogo have been sealed off following last night’s fire that gutted the building.
Initial findings by police indicate that the fire was caused by an electric short circuit but one of the glass windows was found broken at the time the fire brigade team went to extinguish the fire. The building was not affected but the sensitive departments of finance, administration and the various commission were burnt to ashes.
However, according to the federation president William Brick, the cause of the fire was still unknown to him since he had just returned from abroad and was yet to report back on duty.
A section of people claim that the headquarters could have been burnt by some members of UOC that are being accused of financial mismanagement.
