Wasswa Rearing to Go After Temporary FIFA Clearance

Uganda Cranes senior player Hassan Mawanda Wasswa has vowed to prove a point when he returns to local League after the FIFA finally cleared him last weekend to get a provisional license.

Wasswa will make his appearance for table leaders KCCA FC in the FUFA Super League on Friday against Bidco FC.

The player has been in a mini battle with his former Turkish team Kayseri Erciyesspor who had refused the Turkey FA to issue him an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) because the player reportedely breached the contract and the Club terminated it.

A happy Wasswa accused his former club of peddling lies that he had breached his contract. He said he was now focussed on playing for KCC FC and try to help the club win the league title.

He said he couldn’t wait to don the KCCA FC jersey, a club he featured for before heading to the paid ranks. The optimistic player who skippered the Cranes to the 2012 Cecafa Tusker Senior Challenge Cup victory last December promised to work hard in the hope he might attract interest from clubs from Asia or Europe.

Asked about his planned move to Free State FC in the South African League, Wasswa said the deal is still on although he will join the Club in June and not March as earlier planned.  He said that officials of Free State had called him for updates on his clearance from FIFA to sign for the Ugandan Club.

Last weekend, Chuck Blazer, the sole Judge of the FIFA players’ status Committee ordered that Wasswa should be registered temporarily by the Uganda FA so that he can feature in the domestic football league
