Opposition leader Kizza Besigye is expected to address the annual gathering of the Ugandan community in North America, in his ongoing efforts to brief the Diaspora about the political situation in the country

The former presidential candidate will join ministers and senior government officials, among other Ugandans, at the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) scheduled to take place at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel this evening.

Dr Besigye who is currently on his tour to western countries, is rallying Ugandans in Diaspora to back efforts to end NRM regime.

He left UK on August 28 where he had spent almost a week heading to U.S.A.

Former UNAA president Brian Kwesiga confirmed the news that Dr Besigye had been invited.
“We always invite Opposition leaders, but they never attend for one reason or another (the main one being money), last year they couldn’t attend because they were campaigning,” Kwesiga said.
