Bukenya Arrives At South African Club

Ugandan centre-back Ivan Bukenya has been handed a two year deal at Kaizer Chiefs.
Ugandan centre-back Ivan Bukenya has arrived at Kaizer Chiefs and will soon start training with the team, the Mighty Pepper can reveal.

“Bukenya has arrived at the club, [and] will train with the team, and as soon as we get the word from the football department we will make further announcements,” Amakhosi spokesman Vina Maphosa revealed on the Soweto outfit’s official website.
“He is a free agent at the moment and the technical team has an opportunity to look at him.”
RED Pepper Online had previously reported that the defender was expected at South African club for an assessment, and Chiefs’ football manager Bobby Motaung says there is a possibility they may sign him. Former Cranes superstar David Obua was a big success at the South African outfit.
“We are interested in the player,” he tells the club’s website. “But the technical team still needs to make the final call. We hope to make the decision. As we said in the past, we will be making additions in areas where we realise the need.”
The 21-year-old has previously played for Proline FC in Uganda and in the Iraq Premier League for Ebril FC.
