The deputy director of the Uganda Media Centre, Colonel Shaban Bantariza appeared before the General Court Martial in Makindye Tuesday for mention his fraud and forgery case.
Prosecution led by Captain Frederick Kangwamu, however, said inquiries are still ongoing and asked for a one-month adjournment.
Court Chairman Brigadier Moses Ssentongo Ddiba adjourned the session to August 27 this year.
Bantariza, the former Director of the National Leadership Institute (NALI)– Kyankwanzi who also served as army spokesperson, was on July 2nd charged with three counts of fraud including fraud, forgery and falsification of documents.
He is alleged to have stolen 67 million shillings by purporting that he bought a tractor and its accessories for use at NALI. It was later established that the same tractor was given to the institute by the Ministry of Finance.
Bantariza has since denied the charges and was released on bail of one million shillings after being briefly remanded at Makindye Military Barracks.
