Cranes Take Shape As Senegal Fixture Nears

Uganda Cranes tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is a glad man, by press-time he had a full house of players invited for the camp in Istanbul, Turkey, ahead of a into Saturday’s must-win World Cup qualifying decider against Senegal in Marrakech, Morocco.
Micho’s side needs nothing less than victory against The Teranga Lions of Senegal on September 7th to make it to the last phase of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Skipper Andy Mwesigwa and Kizito Luwagga were the last players to report on Tuesday afternoon to bring the total number to 25 as the team underwent training at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
“We are raring to go and the players are responding well,” Micho said on Wednesday.
The coach explained that it is very important to have all the players appear for the camp because it has given him chance to plan better for the match.
“I can try out many concepts comfortably when all players are present,” added Micho.
Former SC Villa skipper, and now featuring for USL Pro side Charleston Battery in the US, midfielder Mike Aziira also arrived in Turkey on Tuesday and vowed to give his best for the national team.
Aziira joined USL Pro compatriot Henry Kalungi (Richmond Kickers) who jetted in Monday evening. Other arrivals on Tuesday include midfielder Tony Mawejje (IBV, Iceland), St. George duo of Robert Ssentongo and Isaac Isinde, plus AIK attacking midfielder Martin Mutumba.
Katende Malibu, the Cranes press officer, also said the players are ready for the battle.
“They are working very hard and ready to beat Senegal,” added a confident Katende.
