Defiant Fr. Kibuuka Starts New Church in Kampala

The controversial Rev Fr Jacinto Kibuuka has reportedly started a new worship centre in Kampala following the expulsion from Catholic Church this year.
The new church is situated at Sendi grounds, Wankulukuku, Rubaga Division.
The church is a few meters from Rubaga Cathedral, the headquarters of the Catholic Church in Uganda.
Kibuuka was expelled from Catholic Church in July this year after disagreements with archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga of Kampala archdiocese and joined the Eastern Orthodox Church.
He was expelled after he was accused of insubordination to rules that govern the Catholic Church.
While speaking to journalist over the weekend, Fr Kibuuka said, “The police and local authorities have given us the green light. Nothing will stop me, I will continue praying for the faithful until I die,” he said.
The new church at Sendi that will operate every Tuesday and Thursday is part of his Mamre Worship and Healing Centre at Namugongo.
It all started when Fr Kibuuka was accused of sexually harassing a young girl, but Police investigations and a magistrates’ court trail ruled in his favor and threw out the case.
He was further accused of disobedience and misusing his healing powers.
He however, maintains that he had done nothing wrong to push for his expulsion saying that all those were fabricated stories by self-seekers.
