**Edrisa Matovu who is wanted out of office**

A fresh land wrangle has erupted over Entebbe Muslim land located near Entebbe Total Energies between the spokesperson of NRM Edrisa Matovu Figo and a Muslim rebel faction led by Sheikh Kasim Bukenya and Twaha Sempebwa fighting of rights of Muslim property.

In May 2015, a faction of Muslims led by Edrisa Matovu raided Masjid Taquwah and forcefully took over leadership from Kasim Bukenya and his allies whom they accused of attempting to sell Muslim land in addition
to registering Muslim property in their own names.

Later Matovu organized elections for the new leadership of the mosque and he was elected chairperson of Entebbe Muslim County something that didn’t go well with the defunct leadership of Sheikh Kasim Bukenya who dragged Matovu and his committee members to High court for trespassing on a piece of land housing Entebbe Masjid Taquwah Ltd located on plot no.21 along Portal Road in Entebbe town.

However, Justice Wilson Masalu dismissed the matter with costs on grounds that the land on which the alleged trespass took place is a community place for worshiping and it has been there for over 100years. The Judge exonerated Matovu and his co-accused persons.

However after losing the court battle 5years down the road, the Muslim rebel faction led by Sheikh Kasim Bukenya has renewed the battle and this time round they want to use force to over throw Matovu’s leadership
and regain the Muslim properties.

It is reported that they even attempted to foil the recently concluded Eid El Fitr celebrations that took place at the contested land but police thwarted them and the function successfully went on well.
Apparently Edrisa Matovu, who elevated himself to the post of the chairperson of Entebbe Muslim district and appointed Sheikh Rashid Muyingo to replace him as the chairperson of Entebbe Muslim County is holding secret meetings with his team and a source that attended one of them intimated us that the top agenda is to drag Sheikh Bukenya and his allies to court over trespass and inciting violence among Muslims.
