Gulu police are holding four suspects in connection with the theft of 15 million shillings from Kings Sport betting company opposite Gulu Bus Park.
The suspects are said to have gained access to the betting shop through the roof on Friday night. They reportedly stole 15 million shillings, 4 computers and printers.
However, the suspects disagreed on sharing the loot prompting one of them to report the theft to police leading to their arrest on Saturday.
Patel Mehul, the manager King sports betting says they made enough money out of the weekend matches. He estimates the entire cost of the theft at shillings 27 million.
James Asubu, a detective attached to Gulu central police station has confirmed the arrest of the suspects but declined to disclose their identities saying investigations are still ongoing.
He advises members of the public not to keep huge sums of money in their houses or officers but instead bank it for safe custody.
