FULL LIST: Museveni Edges Bobi Wine As 529 MPs Secure Parliamentary Seats After General Elections

Kampala- Gallant Ugandans took time to exercise their constitutional right to vote in efforts to decide the direction of their country.

On the highly anticipated Polls day, Thursday, January 14, queues of youthful Ugandans were visible at various designated polling stations while casting their ballot for their presidential and parliamentary candidates.  

On Saturday, January 16, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Justice Simon Byabakama exercised his mandate – from the votes tallies, to announce National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate, Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta as President –elect for the Republic of Uganda

“Candidate Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta, having obtained the highest number of votes in the election and votes cast in his favor being more than 50 percent of the valid votes cast at the election, the electoral commission declares Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta elected president of the republic of Uganda,” Byabakama said.

Officials said Museveni won 58.64 percent to NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu’s 34.83 percent of the total votes cast in Thursday’s balloting.

A keen look at the parliamentary elections, a total of 529 aspirants made their way into the eleventh (11th) parliament for the term 2021 – 2026.

Here is a full list of the 529 Members that will grace the floors of parliament with the aim of representing their electorate as driving Uganda forward.
