Gen. Sejusa Denied Bail, Sent Back to Luzira

Former Intelligence Chief Gen. David Tinyefuza aka Sejusa has been sent back Luzira Prison up March 11, 2016.
In a court session to hear the bail application today at General Court Martial in Makindye, a Kampala suburb, the court ruled that granting Gen. Sejusa bail will jeopardise on-going investigations since he is a high ranking officer.
The court chaired by Maj. Gen. Levi Karuhanga also ruled that sureties presented by Gen. Sejusa don’t qualify.
He did not present at least one serving army officer.
Gen Sujusa paraded Kampala Lord Mayor Eraias Lukwago and Dr Kizza Lukyamuzi as his sureties.
The two grounds informed court to deny Sejusa bail on February 9th.
Sejusa is charged with absence without official leave, participating in partisan political activities and insubordination on February 2nd days after his arrest.
Though he has been tried by an officer below his rank, the court still demands him to present a serving army officer equal to his rank as a surety.
It is uncertain for Sejusa who is not at good terms with government to get a serving army officer as his surety.
