KCC FC 2-1 Khartoum FC

KCC FC defeated Khartoum FC to finish third at the 2015 CECAFA Kagame Cup at the Tanzania National Stadium on Sunday.


Michael Birungi capitalized on a Khartoum defensive lapse from the right side before he fired past Khartoum FC goalkeeper, Mohamed Ibrahim Abdalla during the 7th minute into the game.

A minute later saw Joseph Ochaya crossing from the left but Shaban Kondo missed the target.

In the 8th minute, Birungi turned provider as he played a brilliant pass to Muzamir Mutyaba who doubled the lead and his second of the tournament.

However, the Sudan’s outfits pulled one back in the 25th minute.

Atif Khalid dribbled past Hassan Wasswa inside KCC FC box before laying a flowing ball to Ousmaila Baba whose effort couldn’t be stopped by Emmanuel Opio in goal.

Meanwhile Tanzanian side Azam FC managed to clinch to the championship by defeating Kenyan side, Gor Mahia 2-0

Goals by John Bocco and Kipre Tchetche in both halves at the Tanzania National Stadium handed Azam FC their first Cup trophy ever since its inception in 2007.

Champions Azam went away with $30,000, runners-up Gor Mahia with $20,000, while KCC FC scooped $10,000 after finishing 3rd.
