King Oyo Marks 18 Years On The Throne

Today, all roads lead to Fort Portal, Tooro Kingdom western, Uganda for the 18th coronation anniversary of Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

King Oyo took on the reigns of Tooro Kingdom after the death of his late father Patrick Olimi Kaboyo in 1995.
Ugandan PresidentYoweri Museveni isthe chief guest at today’s function. A church service at St John’s Cathedral will precede the celebrations at Karuzika Palace. Some sections of Fort Portal town are also decorated with yellow and blue banners, the Kingdom colors.

Saturday’s celebrations will be graced by African Queens and Princess under their network, the African Queens and Women Cultural Leaders’ Network (AQWCLN), delegation from Buganda and Bunyoro Kingdom, Ankole and other cultural institutions.

Long live King of Tooro, this is our blood and son, others is seen in Buganda Kingdom. ACHOLIS are a very powerful tribe that only produce leaders
