M7 Warns Prince Namugala on Evictions, Aya Boosts Campaigns

Museveni addressed a huge rally in Buwama , Mpigi district

Thousands of cyclists last weekend braved a hot sunny day and rode 60kms to show their support to NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni, Red Pepper exclusively reports.

The cyclist set off from Aya Hotel in Kampala and accompanied Museveni for his rallies in Buwama, Butamabala and Kitebi, all in Mpigi district.

The group was sponsored by Aya Group chairman, Mohammed Hamid.
On Sunday, Muhammed flagged off over 5000 boda boda riders from Hilton hotel and headed to Mawokota North in Mpigi District, where President Museveni held his rallies.
He offered the riders fueel, drinks, eats and NRM T-shirts, alongside free services like swimming at Hilton Hotel.

“I have put in place these boda bodas purposely to ease transportation of Mzee’s supporters from one rally to another. I have done so because I love peace and stability that is prevailing under the leadership of our experienced president,” Hamid.

He further said, “If Ugandans don’t vote wisely, we may end up regretting or being like Juba.” AYA is one of the largest corporate Uganda’s employers with more than 4000 employees.
Meanwhile Museveni yesterday asked Buganda’s, Prince Mawanda Namugala to stop harassing people sitting on his late father’s land.

The president said that he would look for money and pay off this prince for his land.
The land measuring 3sqm is located at Bunjakko and Nabyewanga in Mawokota South Mpigi district. The president was holding his rally at Buwama play grounds Mpigi district.

Museveni said that he would apply a similar method he used in Ankole where he paid the late Prince Barigye for his land and the people who were staying on it are now landlords.
Museveni’s decision to pay off the Prince came after area locals and leaders cried to him over land wrangles in the two villages. Area woman MP Sarah Temulanda told the president that those suffering are mostly bibanja holders.
“Bunjakko land belongs to Prince Mawanda. I am going to talk to the heir and I pay him off for that land so that he leaves my people to settle. I already did this in Ankole where I paid off the late prince Barigye,” he said.

Museveni asked the area RDC to keep his ears on the ground to help people who are being evicted from their land so long as they genuinely possess proof of ownership.
He directed him to report to the minister for presidency in case of any failure to resolve the land conflicts.
“If the minister fails, I will come in like a real fighter. Those so called courts do not operate from heaven. I didn’t fear them,” he said.
Museveni also campaigned in Mawokota North, Butambala and Kyengera in Wakiso district.
