NDA Considers Importing Tick Control Vaccine from China

The National Drug Authority-NDA is considering importing vaccines for controlling ticks in livestock from Cuba and China.
Dr Gordon Ssematiko, the Executive Director National Drug Authority says there are researchers in China who have made progress in producing vaccines for controlling ticks in livestock among other quality drugs.
Ssematiko traveled to China and Cuba recently on the directives of President Yoweri Museveni to explore. It came after Museveni complained that he had been using Decatix to control ticks amongst his cattle without success over a period of time. He demanded for explanation as to why the livestock department had failed to get a lasting solution for pests and tsetse fly borne diseases, which affect the sector.
Dr Ssematiko explains that until the agreement to import the medicines is finalized, veterinary doctors will have to spray using the right gadgets and the available acaricides. Meanwhile the National Drug Authority has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the South Korea Food and Drug Safety Ministry aimed at improving collaboration for quality medicines and technical assistance in inspecting and checking counterfeit drugs.
Currently, a huge amount of vaccines for Hepatits B vaccine for both and children from South Korea.

Why does M7 decide even on drugs as if we don’t have veterinary experts in Uganda? What if the Chinese gave him (Rwakitura/Kisozi Farm) the GOOD re-bottled sample from some other manufacturer and then supply the govt with fake ones? M7 will as usual coverup for them because he would have pocketed his commission from the deal .. as usual family business 🙂
