Appearing on NBS TV on Monday morning, Muntu argued that parliament is one of the fronts that the party will use to pile pressure on government.

Against wishes of party radicals, Last week, Muntu named Winifred Kiiza as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

“Over time, those opposing decision to name Leader of opposition will realise this was a right decision,” Muntu argued.

“We want stability in Parliament which is one of the fronts we are using to apply pressure, hence naming Leader of opposition.”

Muntu described Winifred Kizza as a “good team leader.”

“MP Winnie Kiiza is not someone who will buckle under pressure. I have worked with her to know this.”

He revealed the decision to name Leader of opposition was made by the party organ. He said that Dr Kizza Besigye “should be happy with it.”
