Uganda Desperately Looking For International Friendly Before Playing Mauritania In Nouakchott

The Uganda Cranes are planning to have one International friendly match ahead of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier return leg against Mauritania in Nouakchott on August 3.
In an interview this morning, head Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic revealed that they are already in contact with some teams to have a build-up game this weekend or early next week before the team travels to West Africa.
The Cranes who carry a 2-0 advantage resumed training this morning with home based players and some professional players from Ethiopia and Tanzania who are off season. Sredojevic said the group of 17 players will train till they enter residential camp on Friday.
Sredojevic said the honeymoon after winning the first leg on Saturday is finished and now they are back to the drawing board to plan for the return leg.
He said he is still trying to negotiate with the foreign clubs to release the professionals early but the biggest challenge is the fact that the dates of the matches are not recognized FIFA dates.
Besides Brian Majwega and debut-making Farouk Miya who were home based players on the team that played last weekend, all the other players who featured where foreign based. Uganda needs a win, draw or a loss by one goal to qualify for the Group stage.
The winning team over two legs will enter the Group that has Togo, Guinea and the Black Stars of Ghana.
Sredojevic also said he is happy that Kenyan based midfielder Khalid Aucho will be available for the return leg on August 3. The Tusker FC player had been suspended after accumulating two yellow cards in the two games against Madagascar in the second round of the qualifiers.
