Valorous Wellness Initiative to Hold Health & Wellness Expo 2022 at Muyenga

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the Saturday 17th October Health & Wellness Expo 2022 at Afro-Park Muyenga, Kampala organized by Valorous Wellness Initiative Uganda.

Led by Dr. Victoria Ndyanabangi alias Dr.Vicky, a researcher and principal investigator at the Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation Uganda, Valorous Wellness Initiative has organized various medical activities including Physical exercises, Weight Management, Cancer screening among other health check-ups.

The program which runs from 8am till late evening will see both young and adults access high quality services from the exhibitors and medical officials

‘’Health Expos play a key role in supporting community and individual health through provision of health services and medical advice. Ugandans have a sense of civic responsibility and engagement for health exhibited through the level of mutual trust and respect among community partners. Aspects relating to quality of life improvement can be supported in Kampala and the sustainability of such expos is indeed important in ensuring overall health satisfaction by the patients’’, said Dr. Ndyanabangi.

Adults will pay a meager Shs 35000 while children 25000 to access the full day high quality services that will be provided by a team of trained exhibitors and doctors.

“The services that will be offered will help many people who would otherwise not afford them at that price and we ask the organizers to make it a regular expo. Health Expos like this bring critical health services and information to people, helping to save lives”, one of resident from Makindye who highly expects to attend commented.

Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you’re thriving.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is defined as being “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Several key areas of the lifestyle are considered dimensions of overall Wellness which include: social connectedness, exercise, nutrition, sleep and mindfulness. Each one has an impact on physical and mental health. By making simple and healthy choices on a daily basis, you will be well on your way towards reducing stress, having positive social interactions and achieving optimal wellness.


Dr Victoria Ndyanabangi is a public health specialist who besides her research practice with Baylor-Uganda.She is a passionate advocate for wellness,healthy living and non communicable disease (NCDs) control.

She runs an advisory clinic over the weekends for healthy diet,weight management,and management of NCDs in collaboration with other specialists.She conducts one on one sessions,group sessions and various activities through out the year such as the health and wellness expo to raise awareness on the need to control non communicable diseases which are lifestyle diseases that can be prevented.
