Côte d’Ivoire have now settled for four days at their base camp of the Oscar Inn Eco Resort in Águas Lindoiá, where they are preparing for their 2014 World Cup campaign which will kick-off on June 14against Japan in Recife.
And the atmosphere seems to be serene within the Elephants’ squad four days from this crucial Group C opener for Gervinho and his teammates.
“Each of us is physically ready and fully aware of what is expected from us, to go through the first round. But there are three group stage matches which won’t be easy. And we must all approach them with determination,” the Ivoirian winger says on his Football Association’s official website.
Gervinho relies above all on a collective effort for Côte d’Ivoire to reach their objective.
“I think that with the quality of the group we will definitely have our say should each and every one of us agree to work for the team,” insists the 27-year-old.
“The whole team will have to be at their best, even if sometimes the individuals will make the difference. The fans can be reassured, I will contribute to the team in every match of the Ivoirian national team.”
