Tanzanian lady golfer Angel Eaton showed superb hunger in her umpteenth attempt to land a second title with a round of 76 to take a one-shot lead as the 60th edition at Entebbe Golf Club (EGC) Friday.

The 24 year-old Tanzanian who finished Day-One in a distant fourth place on 79 took the lead from Day one leader Monica Ntege, who had a dismal day on the 18 hole course whichsaw her drop to fifth position tying with Zambia’s Lorna Mwenda and Tanzania’s Neema Olomi with a gross score  of 166.

Dark horse Eva Magala who played a round of intent to finish joint second along with Entebbe-based Irene Nakalembe on opening day shot shot 6 over par 77 gross to keep the lead just to one stroke and will give Eaton a run for her money in Saturday’s action.

“I am sure I will step up in the remaining round,” she said.
