“Amama Mbabazi shouldn’t panic, he won’t be arrested over his presidential ambition,” Opondo sent a tweet today morning.

This comes a day after Mbabazi revealed that he may be arrested though he is not sure.

“I could be arrested,” says Amama Mbabazi. “I would not be surprised – but I’ve been engaged in too many struggles against regimes to be fearful,” Mbabazi told UK’s news website, the independent.

With the arrest rumours making more rounds on social media, Mbabazi says that he doesn’t fear getting arrested.

“If I were afraid of getting arrested, I wouldn’t have come. I don’t know if they are going to arrest me,” Mbabazi told journalists yesterday at his home in Kololo.

He also told the independent.co.uk news website that; “If I didn’t fear Idi Amin then, I won’t have fear now,”

He also assured his supporters that the law is on their side and they should not chicken out.

“Intimidation can never win wars and I assure my supporters that the law is on their side. They should not chicken out. I don’t entertain such fear in me”

Upon anticipating his return from the US on Sunday, the military deployed heavily along Entebbe road to ensure the situation remains calm.

While addressing the journalists yesterday, Mbabazi said that Mbabazi said that being a serious contender for presidency, the military was doing sparring in preparation for what might come up in the following days.
