Micho Summons Unknown Ssenkatuuka to Boast Attack, Tanzania in Kampala

Uganda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has summoned an entirely unknown forward Nelson Ssenkatuuka to his team after he said he is worried about his blunt striking force ahead of the return leg of the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Tanzania.
“We are creating many scoring chances, but our scoring rate is very low,” Micho said ahead of a build-up game against a select side on Wednesday evening.
But after the build-up game, the former Rwanda coach surprised many when he named Mbogo Clan striker, Ssenkatuuka to the Cranes team, replacing the sacked Henry Oguti and David Kasirye.
“I need results, and if you show me that you are ready to play, i entrust you”, Micho was quoted.
The Serbian born coach said that after the tested strikers Patrick Edema (away for trails in Portugal) and Tony Odur (out injured) failed to get goals in the first leg, the team has to work even harder to press for goals from the midfield as well.
With URA FC’s Frank Kalanda likely to be making his second cap for the national side will lead the attack, either KCCA forward Simon Okwi, playmaker Agustine Nsumba or Joseph Mpande could play a supporting role on Saturday.
Midfielder Denis Iguma netted the Cranes’ sole goal in the vital away win over the Taifa Stars on July 13 in Dar es Salaam.
The coach however said that they will continue to work hard on the positioning and creating many scoring chances.
“We need to create as many opportunities as possible because that is the only way you can make it easier to get the goals,” he said.
In the build-up game played Cranes beat the junior side 3-2. Left winger Brian Majwega opened the scoring on 10 minutes before strikers Frank Kalanda and Simon Okwi netted in the 30th and 67thminutes respectively.
Entebbe Football Club and Lugave Clan Striker, Abram Ndugwa pulled one back for the select side in the 70th minute before Nelson Ssenkatuuka’s late 80th minute strike.
Tanzania In Kampala
The Taifa Stars arrived in Kampala from north Tanzanian city Mwanza on Wednesday evening and checked into MT Zion Hotel located in above Kisekka Market.
Their captain Juma Kaseja warns that overturning the first leg defeat in Dar es Salam is top among their priorities going into Saturday’s match.
“For Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, I do not believe there is such a thing like home advantage.
We understand how we play. Uganda won in Tanzania and we have also come to win here,” Kaseja said.
Kim Poulsen’s charges will train from Nakivubo Stadium on Thursday before accessing the match venue Mandela National Namboole on Friday.
The Tanzanians need to score at least two goals with reply in Kampala with winners over the two legs qualifying for the Chan to be held in South Africa next year.
