Rukungiri Assistant CAO Under Fire Over Missing Bicycles

Sam Ahabwe, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Rukungiri has come under fire from the district leadership over 52 missing bicycles meant for parish chiefs.
The bicycles were placed under the custody of Ahabwe, who claims they went missing in the district yard. Alex Tumuramye, the Rukungiri district social services secretary wants the deputy CAO investigated over the missing bicycles.
He says that it is unfortunate the CAO neglected his responsibility, adding that, the district can’t suffer the loss.
Helen Kabajungu, Rukungiri LC V vice chairperson wants Ahabwe to step aside to pave way for thorough investigations into the missing bicycles.
She says the bicycles went missing three months ago and accuses the office of the CAO not doing enough to recover the bicycles.
Kabajungu says the political leadership will not just sit back and watch while things get out of hand. Stephen Ouma, the Rukungiri Chief Administrative Officer says his office is investigating the matter in conjunction with police.
Sam Ahabwe, the embattled deputy chief administrative officer couldn’t be reached for a comment on the allegations against him.
