Rwandan Couple arrested over murder of 83 year old man

Two Rwandan nationals have been arrested in Kabale over allegedly gruesome murder of an 83 years old man whom they have been working as his porters.
Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesman has confirmed the arrest of ht two Rwandan nationals who are couple and identifies them as Kwizera Desire and his wife Uwingabire, and the deceased as Geoffrey Twinomujuni Ntegyire a resident of Karujabura cell Kitumba sub county Kabale district.
Maate says that the couple were on Saturday June 1st 2024 at the bunagana border of Uganda and the Democratic republic of Congo in Kisoro border trying to escape.
He says that It’s alleged that on the May 31st 2024 at around 8pm at Karujabura cell at the home of the deceased, with malice a forethought, caused his death with a hammer After the act, packed part of the deceased ‘s property and escaped that included; mattress, an iron box, a Radio, a suite case and bicycle.
“The suspects were staying with the deceased as helpers and escaped unnoticed for what they had done but fortunately, they were intercepted at the Bunagana border by security and without relevant documents, were arrested, only to establish that they are the ones who murdered the old Man”. Said Maate. .
He says that after the arrest were brought back to Kabale and confessed to having done so, that because were annoyed with the MZEI who always quarreled with them in the language they could not properly understand.
Maate says that they were arrested with the above mentioned property and upon completion of investigations, will be arraigned before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
