NTINDA: Rise and Shine High School -Ntinda has again emerged among the best performers in the 2022 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), in results released on 9/02/2023 by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

According to details from the school, 50% of the total registered candidates passed in division one and some of their best candidates are; Ibanda Marvin (10),Ssemanga Peter (10),Onenchan Rogers (10) among others .

Only 7 passed in division two and 4 in division three, ranking one of the best schools in Kampala.

While releasing the Uganda Certificate of Education-UCE examinations results, Mr Daniel Odongo—the Uneb executive director said Candidature increased by 16,063 (4.8%) from 333,396 in 2020 to 349,459, in 2022 reversing the decrease of 4,324 (-1.3%) that had been witnessed in the previous examination. The candidates sat from 3,703 centers.

Fred Sseguya Lamech, the School head teacher told our reporter that as Rise and Shine High School community they are much pleased with the result stressing that they performed better despite the previous COVID-19 Lock downs.

“We’ve been trying to keep the standards and we will just keep doing what we have been doing. Students come from various parts of the country to look standard here. Our facilities are standard, the children are neat, cultured and loving.We will continue to be focused and committed, we won’t relent to bring out the potential in the students,” said Sseguya.

Sseguya promised the parents with current students in the School that the team he leads is prepared to ensure that these learners perform better and excel like it has always been the School’s norm.

In 2022, 345,695 candidates (173,761 males and 171,934 females) appeared for the examination compared to 330,592 candidates who appeared for the examination in 2020.  This is an increase of 15,103 (4.6%) candidates.

“Education services should not be a business venture, rather, a calling to nurture children, build them and get them to a place of independence and education service must reach all strata of the economy’’, added Sseguya.

Rise and Shine High School -Ntinda strives to provide their students with a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages them to reach their full potential.
