In a highly billed encounter at UCU main courts, the last on the menu, the home side triumphed over Makerere University. Coach Nick Natuherereza’s charges led throughout the entire 4 quarters of the game, 20 – 15, 21- 8, 24 -12 and 19 -7.

Joseph Chuma, who enjoyed the second longest playing spell on the court (30 minutes) after Jonathan Egau (37 minutes) top scored with a game high 27 points, with 12 rebounds and just one assists.Teammate Joseph Wacha had 20 points (7 rebounds and 2 assists).
Makerere University’s Patrick Seduge reserved face for the Ivory Tower with 13 points with 11 rebounds and 1 assist.

The Lady Canons consolidated their grip at the summit of the women conference group with a convincing 110 – 5 victory over Uganda Martyr’s University ladies.

The lady Canons teams coached by Boniface Okello were in scintillating form as they led from the opening quarter of the game through to the last.

Purity Odihambo top scored with 44 points, with 16 rebounds and 8 assists while Bridget Nakamoga scored 18 points (3 rebound and 2 assists). Peace Nakirijah had 16 points under her individual tally coming off 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

Conference finals
After the group games, the top ranked 4 teams in their conference groups will be engaged in the conference finals format, the first of its nature in Uganda.

This will then help determine the 4 semifinalists and finally the finals from whom the best university will be crowned.
