Obol, Kagoro At Falcons’ Helm



2013 National Basketball League (NBL) losing finalists Falcons on Wednesday announced a fresh leadership team with their celebrated Point/shooting guard and former Makerere Sparks coach Sam Obol and lawyer Friday Robert Kagoro taking over as coach and club chairman.
Kagoro takes over from Dennis Mbidde, who resigned late last year, as chairman on December 16th 2013 while Obol takes over the ruins after coach Gad Eteu departure to fallen champions Warriors.
Senior player Stephen Omony who will be in charge of the club’s technical affairs.
The country’s most successful men’s club have lost Jeff Omondi to reigning champions City Oilers, Herbert Akhita to Charging Rhino while Kenyan Phillip Ameny and Rwandan Serge Kabange are likely to cross to Warriors while Tanzanian talisman Abdullahi Ramadhan is likely to switch to Power.
Falcons came so close to winning their first title since 2007 but folded in Game 7 of the finals 67-74 as newcomers City Oilers clinched the series 4-3.
